This course is suitable for both recent graduates with one to two years' work experience in the hospitality and/or tourism sectors (i.e. Hotel, Restaurant, Tour operator, Travel agency, etc.) and aiming to broaden your skills in strategic thinking and decision making in the hospitality as well as tourism industries not only in London but internationally or those with five or more years of managerial experience but without an undergraduate degree.

What are the benefits of taking this course?

The Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management course provides a challenging programme to allow students and hospitality & Tourism professionals to assess, evaluate and reflect upon relevant hospitality & Tourism management theories, models and current practices in the international Hospitality & Tourism  industry.

Candidates will demonstrate enhanced powers of critical analysis, synthesis and evaluation and can communicate effectively in a professional hospitality as well as tourism environments.

Add a 12 weeks "Work Placement" in the hospitality and/or tourism sectors as a part of the course and receive a "Cambridge Certificate" of work experience (or CTH's own Hospitality work experience" certificate)

Hospitality and Tourism Marketing Strategies

In this module, students develop the understanding of the marketing strategies in the hospitality and tourism sector whilst understanding the importance of creating and developing customer loyalty. They will also identify the importance of network and relationship marketing as well as brand identity and strategy. They will gain an understanding about strategic customer relations and viral and guerilla marketing. Finally, they will grasp the effectiveness of e-marketing in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Management and Leadership Across Cultures

In this module, students will critically evaluate theories of leadership, motivation as well as theories relating to managing cultural diversity. They will also compare and contrast the styles of leadership and appropriate motivation techniques across different cultures.

Hospitality and Tourism Strategic Planning

In this module students will critically evaluate theories relating to business strategy as well as related strategic planning models and carry out internal and external strategic analysis. They will also evaluate strategic options and prepare a strategic plan y taking into account managing risk, ethics and conflict.

Research Methods for Hospitality and Tourism Managers

In this module, students will critically evaluate a range of research methods that can be applied in a hospitality and tourism context. They will also plan and implement hospitality and tourism research project.
